Since 1989, Wildlife Aware Nature Club (WANC) has been educating and inspiring children, teachers and schools, mainly in south India on the immediate need to conserve wildlife and save our nation's environment. From a bunch of teenagers speaking to people about the need to conserve nature 19 years ago, today we are a recognised group in Karnataka which has influenced many local decisions in favour wildlife and environment.

In short, a dedicated and informal group of part time volunteers working at grass roots to carry the message nation wide and internationally, WANC is an example on what small voluntary NGOs with minimal outside funding can achieve.
